Founded in 2016 by Alan O’Mara, Real Talks empowers our partners to live happier, healthier and more successful lives.

We engage people and teams in our mental skills training programme through one to one masterclasses and/or group workshops.

Our Team

Alan O’Mara – Founder

Alan has operated as a consultant with many leading sports teams and organisations and is the author of the best-selling memoir, ‘The Best Is Yet To Come.’

Alan has excelled in his work for the Gaelic Athletic Association and SpunOut.ie in the communications sector and for the Gaelic Player’s Association in a player development role. He has raised more than €1 million for not-for-profit organisations and created the chart topping Real Talks podcast.

A former elite goalkeeper in Ireland; Alan is a qualified journalist (Dublin IT) and has a Masters in Sports and Exercise Psychology (Waterford IT).

Michael McCarthy

Michael McCarthy is an experienced soccer coach and consults with ambitious teams in the areas of team development and performance. 

A qualified teacher, Michael has a Masters in Sports and Exercise Psychology (Waterford IT) and holds a UEFA A license.

Michael has a proven track record of empowering leaders to sustain high performance cultures and developing key mental skills such as focus, mental toughness, resilience and confidence.
